Jack Dupon Winter 2012 Update:
JACK DUPON recently celebrated the honor of having the #1 progressive rock CD, 'Demon Hardi', in fan voting at Arlequins Progressive Webzine. This earned the band an invite to a very popular music festival [still a secret, for now] being held in Italy this summer. This was followed up by a Top 50 selection for Best Album of 2011 by Canada's Delire Musical program on Quebec's highly influential CFLX-FM Radio. Joing the band in the Top 50 are Peter Gabriel, Steven Wilson [Porcupine Tree], Jon Anderson [YES], Mogwai, Van Der Graaf Generator, Primus and others. It seems to us that it's a pretty good neighborhood that our favorite friends from France are hanging around in. Congratulations to JACK DUPON!

Fractale Winter 2012 Update:
Avant-Garde, Progressive, Jazz/Fusion band FRACTALE continue to garner rave reviews for their live EP Suranne.
A few samples of what the critics are saying: "...Very interesting indeed....definitely a band and album that has got a lot to say" - Sea of Tranquility........ "If you long for the good old days of French fusion, when the scene
overflowed with experimental jazz, then FRACTALE will be a real treat!"- Eurock....."Cool and addictive rhythms,
an excellent blend of jazz with space, wonderful wind [instruments] and constant drums!"- Prog-Sphere...."Live
Suranne stands like a masterly conducted piece of revitalized big band music, played in a way that would make
the good old Duke [Ellington] soil himself!"- Prog Archives. And this barely scratches the surface of the amount
of good reviews for this super talented band, led by the uber-impressive Julian Julien. A band that you absolutely
must check out, provided your musical taste is a bit left of center.

TMG In Negotiations With Fractale
TTMG is in negotiation with Fractale, a group launched by saxophonist Julian Julien, who has composed several albums under his own name, including the excellent 'Strange' in 2006, strongly recommended to all progressive rock lovers. Congratulations To Jack Dupon!
An extremely high, High-Five, for their breakthrough performance at the RIO [Rock In Opposition] Festival held last month in Carmaux,France. That performance alone directly led to, a last count, 9 other shows before the festival was even over. Congratulations again to Team JD. You make us proud! And of course, a Jack Dupon live CD is being recorded for release in 2012 on TMG/Nova. Great news indeed!
Gunslinger concludes first US tour with positive results.
Gunslinger,[featuring ex-Hawkwind bassist Alan Davey], whose initial tour of the US started out roughly, with venues burning down before there gigs, others closing down, opening/touring bands breaking up, finally ended with a flourish with excellent shows in Boston,MA. Providence, RI, New Bedford, MA and Manchester, NH and New York City. The band also recorded a new single 'Lessons in Logic' and a special 'fan club only' song, all under the auspices of Brian Sachs at Drumlin Downe Studios in E. Kingston, NH, where the band set up camp for the final week of the tour. The coup de grace of the tour occurred on the next to last evening at the studio, where a private event was held, which included a private performance by the band, a BBQ meal provided by Drumlin Downe, an autograph signing, hot tubs and other enjoyments. Gunslinger plans on coming back to US for another tour in Spring of 2112. TMG looks forward to once again helping make this happen.

TMG Providing US Promotional Services to Sonja Kristina & Marvin Ayers (MASK):
Transit Music Group is proud to announce, in cooperation with Repertoire Records, that it will be providing U.S. promotional services to MASK, a genre-defying group comprised of Curved Air singing star Sonja Kristina and multi-instrumentalist Marvin Ayers. The duo's current album Technopia is the follow up to their very well received Heavy Petal. Their music has been described as "...mellow and addictive, perfect for the modern world". In their own words, the duo describes the sound of the tracks in this collection as "darkly fatalistic reflections on romance and existentialism."
As collective longtime fans of Sonja Kristina's work in Curved Air, the members of TMG are thrilled to assist in the promotion of a project that is so close to her heart. Check out the sounds of MASK. You will NOT be sorry that you did.
Sonja Kristina began exploring and performing in the 1960's folk clubs. At 15 she was studying drama whilst sharing billing with such luminaries as Sandy Denny and Al Stewart and Buffy Saint Marie.....
She played Chrissie in the Original London Cast of Hair at the Shaftesbury Theatre in 1968 and in 1970 joined the nucleus of the band Curved Air as lead vocalist and lyricist.
Curved Air was signed to Warners in late 1970's and were renowned for their musicianship and exciting shows. Their albums were best sellers and they penned a hit song Back Street Luv.
They toured internationally and went through several changes of lineup over six years . Sonja was the one constant member and after the final Curved Air concert in 1976 went on to perform in more West End Shows, TV and Fringe theatre. She formed a new band Escape and recorded her first solo album Sonja Kristina.
She had three children with her partner Curved Air drummer Stewart Copeland who formed The Police. Sonja and Stewart parted after 16 years together as Stewart went to live in Los Angeles and Sonja was on the road again re-inventing folk rock with a fiery brand of music she dubbed Acid Folk.
Five years of successful touring followed until Sonja took a sabbatical to study music, voice and sound healing and an MA in performing Arts, whilst teaching voice at Middlesex University.
Then she resumed recording and performing ambient Jazz during which time she began working with Composer/producer Marvin Ayres who is known for his unique manipulation of sound textures and audio visual installations.
Marvin suggested that they create a new music together. This collaboration is MASK. Their first album Heavy Petal was released to critical acclaim. In collaboration with film artists and VJs they took their multi-media show to select Art Houses, clubs, new music venues and festivals in 2005. The second MASK album-'Technopia' was released in 2010. She is touring with Curved Air and also performs solo and with her Acid Folk band. Sonja Kristina and Marvin Ayres are also planning MASK 'Technopia' shows for 2011.
Marvin Ayres is the brilliant new voice of ambient/electronica, highly regarded by reviewers of his releases 'Neptune', 'Cellosphere' and 'Sensory'. His collaborative works with film artists have been screened internationally at prestigious galleries and festivals.
Ayres has composed and recorded a diverse selection of minimalist albums, incorporating spatial soundscapes and psycho acoustics and latterly for 5.1 Surround Sound, as well as produced a number of film soundtracks.
A founding member of The Government, Ayres also made solo contributions to bands and artists, notably,
Culture Club, Simply Red and Frankie Goes to Hollywood. He was signed to the avant-garde label Mille Plateaux as composer/producer, and released two minimalist albums, Cellosphere and Neptune to critical acclaim.
Excerpts of these works have been performed live in an array of forums such as: London's 'Festival of Electonica,' (with Groove Armada's Patrick Dawes). His reputation as producer and performer led Jaki Liebezeit (ex CAN), to invite him to re-mix and tour with his band Club off Chaos. Ayres is commissioned by Einsturzende Neubauten's electronica music publishers Freibank.
Marvin Ayres has also collaborated with many visual artists on A/V installations, which have been exhibited in major galleries in Europe and the U.S. including the ICA's commission for him to compose and produce their first ever DVD exhibition. The two works resulting from this were Sensory and Cycle which became the DVD Sensory which is on exhibition at The Tate Modern.
