Graphics Specifications
We want your job to be perfect! To avoid delays in outputting film and getting your graphics printed (as well as incurring extra charges), please adhere to the following guidelines when submitting customer-supplied art.

Always supply printouts of graphics files!

Text:
If someone has typed and printed the songs, lyrics, and/or credits for your project, PLEASE include a copy on disk. Save ALL TEXT as text only, not as a program-specific format such as Word, Word Perfect, etc.

Fonts:
No PC format fonts. Please find a comparable font available in Macintosh format. We can choose fonts that are similar to the originals if necessary. Post-script fonts are acceptable. True-type fonts are unacceptable. Never bold or italicize fonts by changing the type style or by using the buttons in Quark XPress and Pagemaker. Always select the bold or italic versions from the font menu.

Documents:
Design your artwork to size. Please ask us for specific measurements. All bleeds (where ink runs to the edge of the page) are at least 1/8' beyond the edge of the printed piece. Please use page layout programs such as Quark XPress (preferred) or Adobe Pagemaker Especially in situations where there are multiple images and/or lengthy text. Avoid doing all layout with illustration programs such as Illustrator or Freehand.

Graphics:
All images printed on paper, color or greyscale, must be 300 dpi/150 lpi. (There is no raster image quality improvement above 300 dpi) Bitmap/line art should be 1200 dpi. All full-color images must use process color (CMYK mode), NOT RGB color. TIFF format (PC or MAC) should be used for all pixel-based art (scans, Photoshop, Painter). EPS format is used for vector graphics (Illustrator, Freehand). For CD Face printing, spot color is used (Pantone colors). Greyscale images are best because they can be printed in any color ink with any color background. Note: process color can be used for full-color images on CDs: 5 colors = white + CMYK.

Disk:
Include ALL fonts and ALL images. Quark XPress allows you to 'Collect for Output' in the file menu. This copies only the appropriate image files for you. Pagemaker has a similar function as well. Zip Disks, Jaz Disks, and CDs are acceptable.

Film:
All images printed on paper: 150 lpi, Negative, Right Reading, Emulsion Down. CD Face Printing: 85 lpi, Positive, Right Reading, Emulsion Up. Film for 5 color CD face printing is 90 lpi.
